Writing from Life

On Saturday 14 May 2011, Literature Wales held Writing from Life, a Day Conference for the Valleys in Blaenavon as part of the South Wales Valleys Literature Development Initiative.

70 people attended the Literature Wales celebration of Wales’s autobiographical and travel writing, with a variety of stimulating talks and workshops including: personal journalism, travel writing and digital storytelling.

The Conference was held at Blaenavon Workmen’s Hall from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Peter Finch introduced a stimulating day including workshops, discussion panels and presentations from a wealth of talented authors, scriptwriters and creative artists including Professor Dai Smith, Howard Marks, Horatio Clare, Nia Wyn, Tom Anderson, Caspar Walsh andKatrina Kirkwood.

The day attracted and celebrated the creative writing talents of people of all ages and abilities.
