Shared Writing Conference

Teachers and Family Learning Practitioners in Neath Port Talbot enjoyed a Shared Writing Day Conference at Pontardawe Arts Centre on Thursday 13 January 2011.

Phil Carradice introduced an inspiring day of workshops and presentations from three talented authors including: Ric HoolMike Jenkins and Mike Church.

The conference was devised in partnership with Neath Port Talbot Reader Development Manager, Paul Doyle and the County’s Literacy and Basic Skills Advisors. The day aimed to support teachers and raise their confidence in delivering creative writing sessions within an educational setting.

ric hoolRic Hool: Poet, short–story writer and recently retired Junior teacher led an interesting workshop on techniques for inspiring poetry.

Mike JenkinsMike Jenkins: Poet, story writer and novelist, is a former teacher at Comprehensive school and led an engaging workshop on fiction writing.

Mike ChurchMike Church: Performance poet and writer also Ex-Deputy Head of Headlands, Penarth led an entertaining workshop on drama techniques.
