LGBT History Month 2011

Academi in partnership with Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales and the LGBT Excellence Centre hosted a free event during Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History Month 2011.

The Gay Male Voice Choir performed a selection of songs to start the event. Short Stories, Poems and Songs with Paul Burston took place at St Fagans: National History Museum on Saturday 12 February, 14.00-15.00.

Over 40 people enjoyed performances by celebrated author, Paul Burston, who presented the event; with the Rainbow Group in Torfaen exploring young people’s identity through literature; Alex Drummondreading from his soon to be published Queering the Tranny and Richard Harris reading from his book Closets are for Clothes.

The launch event was the first of a series of events run by Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales which hosted a packed programme of exhibitions, events and activities to celebrate Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender History Month (LGBT) during February..
