Gwyl DEMO 2010

DEMO

Rhoddodd partneriaeth ysgrifennu creadigol a cherddoriaeth rhwng yr Academi ac Opera Cenedlaethol Cymru ysbrydoliaeth a chyfleoedd newydd i ddisgyblion blwyddyn deg o Ysgol Gyfun Esgob Llandaf ar 27 Medi 2010.

Mwynheuodd un deg naw o ddisgyblion cerddoriaeth fore o ysgrifennu am daith bersonol gyda’r bardd, Clare Potter, cyn gweithio gyda’r cyfansoddwr i Opera Cenedlaethol Cymru, Stacey Blythe a’r Soprano, Ros Evans i gyfansoddi eu cân eu hunain am Daith.

Roedd y gweithdy undydd, a oedd yn bartneriaeth rhwng yr Academi, WNO MAX, ac adran gerdd Ysgol Esgob Llandaf, yn annog unigolion i roi rhaff i’w dychymyg a’u doniau cerddorol wrth gyfansoddi cân mewn diwrnod. Creodd y darn terfynol ddialog â Treorchy Journey a gyfansoddwyd gyda’r awdur llyfrau taith, Tom Anderson ym mis Mai 2010. Perfformiwyd y ddau ddarn fel rhan o Ŵyl Celfyddydau Cymunedol DEMO Neuadd Dewi Sant a hefyd yn Niwrnod Agored Canolfan Mileniwm Cymru ddydd Sadwrn 2 Hydref.

Gŵyl Celfyddydau Cymunedol DEMO Neuadd Dewi Sant oedd y digwyddiad cyntaf o’i fath ac roedd yn gymysgedd o arddangosiadau, gweithdai a pherfformiadau gan dros ugain o brif sefydliadau celfyddydau cymunedol Caerdydd. Gwahoddwyd y cyhoedd i gymryd rhan mewn amryfal weithdai gan gynnwys ysgrifennu creadigol gyda’r Academi, sgiliau syrcas gyda No Fit State Circus, dawnsio, drymio ac offerynnau taro gyda Cherdd Gymunedol Cymru, Gamelan gyda A2Arts Active, Dawns Affricanaidd, MCing, graffiti a gweithdai drama yn ogystal â pherfformiad SWICA o rannau o’u darn carnifal.

Geiriau caneuon Esgob Llandaf:

Find Your Way

I spy with my little eye

What do you really see?

My little brother being sick.

Trying, but failing to get to sleep.

I’m bored and uncomfortable,

Arguing with my little brother.

Crab bait has gone off.

Fields full of horses.

Open the windows and shout –

If they wave back, they’re sweet,

If they don’t they’re sour.

Long roads, wrong turns

Setting out and getting through it.

Where are you going?

What are you feeling?

Who is with you?

Dad dissin’ the Grandparents.

A journey through life takes time

Maybe it’s time to rewind.

Singing songs ‘til the petrol station,

The feeling you get when you drive in the dark.

Seat belts, ipods, windows and sweets.

Have I left the oven on…?

I’ve left the sink running…

The back door’s open.

Packing up and going

Getting through it.

People singing really loud on the bus

While you are trying to get some sleep.

Is that too much to ask?

Getting lost

Getting lost

Getting lost

Getting lost

Love, depression, D. of E.,

Creativity,

School bus,

epiphany.

A journey through life

It takes time to get there.

Where are you going?

What do you see?

Is there a change?

Is your conscience keeping you company?

A journey through life takes time.

When you get there

It doesn’t seem so long.

The moon pulls without a word.

Fields full of horses.

Find your way

Find your way

Find your way

It’ll take a while but you’ll get there someday

A journey through life, it takes time to get there.
